About the Book


The Society for Advancement of Villagers' Education and Rural Assistance (SAVERA) is consistently working towards the rural development and nation building. The forum encourages manifold developmental activities in the field of research. It is a consortium of professionals, research scientists, social scientists, reformists, technocrats, and agriculturists, which offers critical inputs on development of rural India. One of the objectives of SAVERA is to develop the literature on rural entrepreneurship, rural development, rural management, traditional knowledge, women entrepreneurship and Indian way of knowledge management.
However, 'Rural Management in Post Reform Era' is an attempt to further the vision of SAVERA in the field of rural management. Collectively, the book puts forward the idea of rural management with Indian perspective. Since the existing literature suggests that management of rural resource is a powerful tool to run a sustainable economy. Therefore, it becomes obligatory to produce a complete literature of rural management. The present edition is a collection of scholarly research papers on the various concerns of rural management
About The Author
Karanam Nagaraja Rao has completed his Ph.D in Management Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He worked for more than 2 decades in different capacities in LIC of India as Assistant Administrative Officer, Administrative Officer and the Principal of Agents’ Training Centre. He also worked as State Operations Manager in charge of Karnataka in Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company before joining in to academics.  Before joining at Alliance University, he worked for about a year at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad as a faculty. Dr. Rao is a Life Member for Insurance Institute of India and All India Management Association. He also had to his credit a number of articles in National and International Journals. His interests include Insurance, Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics and Spirituality in Management Science.
Harnam Singh earned PhD from University of Lucknow on “Insurance Industry in India with special reference to SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd” in 2011. He received Post-graduate degree in Applied Economics (2007) and Business Administration in Finance Management (2011) from UPRTOU, Allahabad. Having 7 National and International Publications and Presented 9 Research Papers in International and 17 in National Conferences. Attended Faculty Development Programs and National Workshops at reputed institutions like IIM Ahmadabad and University of Lucknow.
Dr. Singh Conducted several Research Trainings on Women Empowerment and Rural Development and also associated as Executive Committee Member in various National Level NGOs like, SAVERA, Sumangalam, Karttavya Foundation etc. Apart from research and trainings, he is also a financial consultant and a freelance writer for periodicals. Currently, he is working on a Major Research Project of UGC titled ”Antecedents of job satisfaction in organizational citizenship behavior - A case study of the Public sector and Private sector Banks” in University of Lucknow.
Dr. Anita Sukhwal Professor, Pacific University, Udaipur (India) Anita Sukhwal, is designated as Professor, Pacific Institute of Management and Technology, Pacific University, Udaipur. Before Joining Pacific Group Dr. Sukhwal was Heading the ICFAI institute, Udaipur as the Vice-Principal . She got the Doctoral degree in Marketing - Business Strategy from Faculty of Management Studies, Udaipur. She is a Consultant to Renowned Marketing Research  Company , Ogilvy and Mather- Mumbai. Dr. Anita was awarded the Duke of Edenburg award for N.C.C from British Council, England and Maharana Foundation Award for Best Contribution in N.C.C by Menaka Gandhi (1997). Dr. Sukhwal has more than 15 Years of Academic, Administrative Experience. Her Professional Experience includes Trainings and MDPs in Corporates. With a Degree of MBA (Marketing) and M.Com (Business Administration) to her credit, She is a Master in RDBMS and Oracle. She has written more than 9 Research Papers in ISSN numbered Journals and has presented Papers in more than 5 International and 8 National Conferences which include papers presented in Oxford University, London and IIM-Ahmedabad.

About the Author

Prior to this he has served Indian Institute of Management (IIM-A) Ahmadabad as an Academic Associate. Dr. Dwivedi is Associate-Editor of International Journal of Commerce and Management Studies, Editorial & Review Board member for Humanities & Social-Science and also Member of Scientific & Technical Committee in World Academy of Science, Engineering & Technology (WASET) France, Editorial Board Member of Researchers World (International Journal), India, Associate-Editor of International Journal Shodh-Sanchayan (bi-lingual), Review Board Member of International Academy of Business & Economics (IABE), and Senior-Member of International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, (Singapore). Apart from editorial work, he has sizeable research publications (around 30) to his credit. He has contributed 2 working papers for Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad. Dr. Dwivedi has presented (more than 20) research papers in International and National Conferences. He has also participated in different radio-talks on rural-empowerment and entrepreneurship development at All India Radio. Dr. Dwivedi has also conducted two entrepreneurship development programmes for Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
