The book emphasized upon the identification of sources water bodies in the study region like rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, wells and springs on carographic principles. It includes the evaluation of water potential in the different water bodies and their utilization for socio economic development of the area. The book also traces out the origin, extent and nature of aquatic pollution and variation in aquatic ecosystems besides assessing the anthropogenic impact on them. Special attentions have been laid to formulate certain managerial and conversational measures for proper and judicious utilization of water resources in the future.
About the Author
Born in Thanna Mandhi, District Rajouri, J&K(India), Khalid Rayaz is a committed teacher and young researcher done his M.Sc. in Geography in 2002 and Ph.D. in Water Resource Management in 2007 from University of Jammu, Jammu. He is a Lecturer in Geography, Department of Education, Jammu and Kashmir. He possesses the teaching experience for more than eight years both at graduate and undergraduate classes. He has published more than two dozen research papers in leading national and international journals, besides participating in several states, national and international conferences across the country for presenting his research work. he has acted as resources person in many orientation programmes for teachers organized by state institute of education, jammu. He has authored four books - Geography of Asia with special reference to India, Geography of India - ocean and climate, Human and regional resources geography and resources geography of jammu and kashmir which are widelyacclaimed and accepted as text and reference books both in the state and national level. He is also the member of several geographical and other scientific organizations of the country.
