"Liberty Institute is an independent think tank dedicated to empowering the people by harnessing the power of the market. It seeks to build understanding and appreciation of the four institutional pillars of a free society - Individual Rights, Rule of law, Limited Government and Free Market. The Institute undertakes a number of activities, including research and advocacy on public policy issues. It organises conferences, and has a growing publications programme. At Present, the Institute's core areas of interest include development economics, education, environment, healthy, security, trade and encouraging citizen participation in the democratic process. The Institute was established in 1996 as a non-profit organisation. it solicits the support of all freedom loving individuals and organisations. Philip Stevens is the director of the health programme at International Policy Network, a UK-based development think tank. He is the author of numerous health policy publications, including fighting the diseases of poverty and Foreign aid for health: moving beyond government. His Writings on Health policy have appeared in a wide range of international newspapers, and he is a frequent commentator on TV and radio. Philip has also held research positions at the Adam Smith Institute and Reform in London, and Spent several years as a management consultant. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics and Durham University.
Debashis Chakraborty is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi campus. He studied at the University of Calcutta and centre for International Trade and Development Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His research focus includes International Trade policy, WTO negotiations and Indian economic development. He has presented and published his research at various academic and policy forums in India and abroad. He has several co-edited and co-authored titles on WTO issues to his credit. Before joining IIFT, he was with Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies (RGICS), New Delhi.
